Staying True to the scene...

I'm always self inflicting this elusive idea of a scene.  How about you? Do you stay true or do you inject it with as much creativity as you can muster up?

If you do go creatively forward how much of the scene do you strive for accuracy? To what are your limitations?

These questions are ALWAYS on my mind right before putting brush to canvas.  I think it boils down to what you want to say and how to speak it.

I will sometimes just let the painting speak for itself and release my ego.  Sometimes I'm so driven that I do a "tight" painting and I end up using it as a frisby (they do fly good) or it gets put in the bin to cover up.  However I look at each one after done, I see it as a lesson in a new path to being a better painter.  Each painting down greets the opportunity to get another on canvas.  It's a never ending cycle.

No matter the way you choose to speak, isn't it fun just mixing the paint.  THATS what its all about.  Throwing one pigment down next to another, how they interact with one another.  There are hundreds of stories with each painting....what does your voice say?
