Close to the blade
As I sit here analising a painting that is in that final 5%, the part that some painting (even sold ones) never come out of. In a way I'm thankful that most are left unfinished to that degree. For me it keeps the mystery, the unknown....
Edges are a subject that could cover years of discussions. What your trying to say with an edge can have a commanding presence or the lack there of can cause the eye to drop off and sail off into the unknown never to be seen again. The most important part of a brushstroke is its edge, where it meets its neighbor. One neighbor may be more curious and have a soft side to it, or it could have a confident neighbor. One who demands more attention that other brush mark. Does that confident one have what it's got to be that winning brush stroke that tells the artist no more?.......
I hope you'll join in this discussion.....let me know what you think about edges!
Until Then
